He works at the sea, in the mountains, with water, ice, snow, rocks, sand - striving to create work as delicate, clear and inspiring as nature. Born in Allguvia his life’s journey has taken him to Urbino, London, Vienna, Munich and Lagoa.
“ Water, wind and weather… We are exposed to the elements in all of their manifestations… be it waves, snow, rain, fog, ice, rainbow… we live in union with them, whatever form they might present itself to us… the winter storms, the autumn drizzle on the sea. How to compete with this sort of beauty in artistic practice? You can only try, and fail, but failing beautifully… I guess this this is my quest. ”
Looking for the abstract in nature, tracing the inner logic of the elements, he usually starts his process with paint, brushes, coal, clay, earth, favorably sur plein air… then taking his work into digital, often sampling and remixing his material.
He paints with fire, collects air from all over the world, invites chance as a tool, incorporates light, shadows, rain, wind, ice and snow. He only works with natural, sustainable materials like clay, sand, water, pigments , paper, wood, linen.
